Sie steuern Alec, einen Teenager, dessen gesamtes Dorf durch ein unbekanntes Übel zerstört wurde – ein Ereignis, das später „Die große Katastrophe“ genannt wurde. Er wurde von einem mysteriösen Jäger gerettet. Seitdem wächst Alec friedlich in einem Dorf auf, in das er gebracht wurde und das für die Überlebenden der großen Katastrophe wie ein neues Zuhause war, und träumt davon, den Jäger wiederzusehen und selbst ein Jäger zu werden. Zusammen mit seinem besten Freund Lutz versucht er sein Glück in umliegenden Städten und erhält kleine Jobs als Jäger, bis sich das Schicksal der beiden jungen Leute mit einer mysteriösen Organisation namens Academy kreuzt. Das Gameplay dieses dritten Teils der Arc the Lad-Reihe ist dem des Vorgängers sehr ähnlich. Sie bekämpfen Feinde in rundenbasierten Schlachten und können sich frei auf dem Schlachtfeld bewegen und Ihre Gruppenmitglieder so positionieren, wie Sie möchten. Sie können Ihre Waffen verbessern, indem Sie sie mit speziellen Materialien schmieden, und verfügen über eine Vielzahl von Techniken und Zaubersprüchen.

Anglais The events of this game take place several years after Elk and Arc faced their ultimate enemy in "Arc the Lad II". You control Alec, a teenager whose entire village was destroyed by an unknown evil - an event that was later called "The Great Disaster". He was saved by a mysterious Hunter. Since then, growing peacefully in a village he was brought to, which was like a new home for the survivors of the Great Disaster, Alec dreams about meeting the Hunter again, and becoming a Hunter himself. Together with his best friend Lutz he tries his luck in nearby towns, receiving small Hunter jobs, until the fate crosses the ways of the two young people with a mysterious organization called the Academy. And there their adventure really begins...

The gameplay of this third installment of Arc the Lad series is very similar to that of the predecessor. You fight enemies in turn-based battles, and can move freely on the battlefield, positioning your party members the way you like. You can upgrade your weapons by forging them with special materials, and have a variety of techniques and magic spells at your disposal.

Français Arc the Lad III est un jeu de rôle sur Playstation. L'histoire ne suit pas directement l'histoire des deux premiers épisodes puisque Arc et Elk ont battu l'esprit maléfique. Vous incarnez Alec, un adolescent qui a survécu à la destruction de son village et qui a été sauvé par un mystérieux chasseur. Il a maintenant atteint l'âge pour partir à l'aventure, et il souhaite plus que tout devenir chasseur à son tour. Il prend alors la route avec son meilleur ami Lutz.
