Anglais The Xbox Live Arcade was officially announced on May 12, 2004, at the Microsoft E3 press conference by Bill Gates and launched on December 3, 2004 on Xbox. The software distributed on disk was obtained by ordering it on the Microsoft website, distributed with special issues of the official Xbox magazine and in the Forza Motorsport console pack or in connection and subscription kits to Xbox Live. The service launched with six titles and expanded its library to twelve titles by the end of 2004. Once connected to Xbox Live, customers could purchase titles using a credit card or download a limited trial version

Le logiciel distribué sur disque était obtenu en le commandant sur le site de Microsoft, distribué avec des numéros spéciaux du magazine officiel Xbox et dans le pack console Forza Motorsport ou dans des kits de connexion et d'abonnement au Xbox Live. Le service a été lancé avec six titres et a élargi sa bibliothèque de douze titres d'ici la fin de l'année 2004.
