Allemand In I Play: 3D Tennis steigt man als selbst erstellter oder vorgefertigter Spieler in die Ranglisten des Welttennis auf, verbessert durch Siege Schlagtechnik, Aufschlag und Volleyspiel und verdient Preisgelder. Es stehen vier Modi zur Verfügung: Einzelmatch, Einzelturnier, Grand Slam und ATP-Tour, wobei man sich für die letzten beiden qualifizieren muss. Wer besser platzierte Gegner schlägt, klettert schneller in der Weltrangliste. Die Kamera zeigt das Spielgeschehen dynamisch aus der Rückansicht und passt sich bei Netzangriffen perspektivisch an. Spielerfiguren sind groß und flüssig animiert, ebenso wie die Hintergründe. Zusätzlich gibt es eine Minikarte und Balkendiagramme zur Spielerstärke am unteren Bildschirmrand.

Four modes are available: Singles Match, Singles Tournament, Grand Slam, and ATP Tour, though the last two require qualification. Defeating higher-ranked opponents boosts your ranking faster. The dynamic rear-view camera adjusts when approaching the net for realistic perspective. Player characters are large and smoothly animated, as are the crowd backgrounds. A mini-map and ability bar graphs are shown at the bottom of the screen.
