Allemand „Murder on the Atlantic“ spielt im Jahr 1938 an Bord der Bourgogne, einem großen französischen Ozeandampfer, auf dem sich wohlhabende Passagiere und Spione befinden, die hinter neuartiger Computertechnologie her sind. Als Ermittler untersuchst du zwei mysteriöse Morde, die sich auf dem Schiff ereignet haben. Das Spiel ist vollständig menügesteuert – du entscheidest, welchen Teil des Schiffs du als Nächstes erkundest, durchsuchst Räume oder liest die Aussagen von bis zu vierzig Verdächtigen. Direkte Gespräche führst du nicht, stattdessen erhältst du schriftliche Informationen. Im Verlauf findest du auch einen Decoder, mit dem sich verschlüsselte Nachrichten entschlüsseln lassen. Die Rätsel bestehen darin, bestimmte Codewörter zu finden. Hat man die Lösung mithilfe der beiliegenden Dokumente zusammengesetzt, beginnt der zweite Abschnitt des Spiels, in dem du Fragen korrekt beantworten musst, um zu gewinnen.

Anglais “Murder on the Atlantic” takes place in 1938 aboard the Bourgogne – a large French ocean liner carrying wealthy passengers and spies eager to capture emerging computer technology. As a detective, you investigate two mysterious murders that occurred on the ship. The game is entirely menu-driven – you choose which part of the ship to explore, search rooms, or read statements from up to forty suspects. You don't interact with them directly, but receive written information. As the investigation unfolds, you discover a decoder to decrypt secret messages. The puzzles involve finding specific code words. Once the solution is pieced together – using various physical documents that come with the game – the second part begins, where you must correctly answer a series of questions to win.
