Trotz des Namens hat es wenig mit der bekannten Super Mario Bros.-Reihe gemeinsam. Während die Spielfigur in ähnlicher Weise springt, ist die Bewegung deutlich langsamer, und viele Sprites sind unvollständig oder wechseln zwischen ihren Original- und modifizierten Formen.

Anglais Super Mario Bros III is an unofficial ROM hack that modifies an existing game with Mario-themed elements. Despite its name, it has little in common with the official Super Mario Bros. series. While the character jumps similarly, movement is noticeably slower, and many sprites are incomplete or inconsistently switch between original and modified forms.
