Allemand Roommate: Inoue Ryouko ist Teil der Roommate-Reihe. Das Spiel dreht sich um die 17-jährige Ryoko. Ihre Familie ist von Tokio nach New York gezogen und sie bleibt dort, um die Schule zu beenden. Ihr Vater (ein Freund des Vaters des Spielers) hat sie gebeten, bei ihm in seiner Wohnung einzuziehen (wo er ein freies Zimmer hat), damit sie ihr Studium beenden kann. Aber Ryoko vermisst ihre Familie und ist emotional verletzlich – also ist es für ihn an der Zeit, selbst einzuziehen.

The young man has a spare room, and Ryōko ends up moving in with him. They'll have plenty of time to get to know each other, but will they end up becoming more than just roommates?

This is a love-simulation adventure game and the first title in the Roommate series. The player can move freely around the apartment, and the game consists mainly of voice dialogue sequences where the player interacts with Ryōko and can respond to her via multiple-choice answers. Unlike many games of this type, the game's two-week story progresses in real time thanks to the Saturn's (or PocketStation's in the PlayStation version) internal clock, and the time and frequency of the player's visits influence the events that occur and the relationship between the protagonist and Ryōko, leading to several different endings.

Il s'agit d'un jeu d'une simulation d'amour et le 1er de la série Roommate. Le joueur se déplace librement dans l'appartement, interagit avec Ryōko pour lui répondre par le biais de réponses à choix multiples. Contrairement à de nombreux jeux de ce type, l'histoire du jeu, qui dure deux semaines, se déroule en temps réel grâce à l'horloge interne de la Saturn (ou de la PocketStation dans la version PlayStation), et l'heure et la fréquence des visites du joueur influencent les événements qui se produisent et la relation entre le protagoniste et Ryōko, ce qui conduit à plusieurs fins différentes.
