Anglais Following success with the mail-order Football Tactician series, Talking Birds entered the mainstream with this retitled version. It's a football management game, setting you in charge of one of the teams in the top 2 English divisions of the time and giving you control over transfers, tactics and training regimes as you aim to guide your team to success. Initially you can only manage the lower teams, but if you succeed over a few seasons you will become respected enough to have a chance to get the top roles.

The focus is on ultra-realism, which makes it very hard to quickly transform a club's fortunes, as there is a lack of money at many of the smaller teams and attracting players is harder than in the Premier Manager series and similar. Matches are viewed from top-down highlights, with 3 levels of detail (goals-only, highlights and kick-by-kick) offered.

Français Après le succès de la série Football Tactician vendue par correspondance, Talking Birds s'est imposé sur le marché grand public avec cette version rebaptisée. Il s'agit d'un jeu de gestion footballistique dans lequel vous prenez les rênes d'une des équipes des deux divisions anglaises les plus prestigieuses de l'époque et contrôlez les transferts, les tactiques et les programmes d'entraînement afin de mener votre équipe vers la victoire. Au début, vous ne pouvez gérer que les équipes les moins bien classées, mais si vous réussissez pendant plusieurs saisons, vous gagnerez suffisamment de respect pour avoir une chance d'accéder aux postes les plus prestigieux.

L'accent est mis sur l'ultra-réalisme, ce qui rend très difficile de transformer rapidement le destin d'un club, car de nombreuses petites équipes manquent d'argent et il est plus difficile d'attirer des joueurs que dans la série Premier Manager et autres jeux similaires. Les matchs sont visionnés sous forme de résumés en vue de dessus, avec 3 niveaux de détail (buts uniquement, temps forts et coup par coup).
