Anglais Carpet turns an open-layout card game into a calm yet genuinely tricky mental challenge. Cards are taken from the deck and from visible rows, spread around, and placed onto the right piles, so you constantly have to weigh which move is the most useful. Because so much information is visible, the game relies less on luck than on close observation and careful planning. The result is an unflashy but appealing card puzzle with a pleasantly thoughtful atmosphere.
