Shortly afterwards he finds out that the Crown Jewels belonging to the royal family were stolen. The fact is kept in secret, and Dr. Watson, Sherlock Holmes best friend and associate, must retrieve them within forty-eight hours to avert a world-wide scandal.

Français L'histoire se déroule à Londres en 1887, peu avant le jubilé d'or de la reine Victoria. Les joyaux de la couronne disparaissent mystérieusement de la Tour de Londres. Sherlock Holmes découvre que le vol est un piège et confie l'enquête à son fidèle ami, le docteur Watson, que le joueur incarne. Watson dispose de seulement 48 heures pour résoudre le mystère : il doit suivre des indices et résoudre des énigmes à travers des lieux emblématiques comme l'Abbaye de Westminster, le Pont de Londres ou Big Ben. En chemin, il croise des personnages classiques de l'univers holmésien et finit par affronter le professeur Moriarty, avant de ramener les joyaux à temps.
