Anglais This is a game for either one or two players, though whichever version is being followed, the playing instructions will be very similar. The game is set during the American Civil War and represents skirmish around a river crossing between Union and Confederate forces. The objective of the game is to either capture the enemy's flag or else to achieve the more dominant tactical position within the time period which you allow yourself.

Français Johnny Reb est un jeu de stratégie au tour par tour pour un ou deux joueurs, basé sur la guerre civile américaine. Les joueurs peuvent contrôler une armée de l'Union ou de la Confédération.
nnIl existe trois types d'unités : l'infanterie, la cavalerie et l'artillerie, et il est possible de décider du nombre d'unités de chaque type dans l'armée du joueur. Après la mise en place initiale, le champ de bataille est généré. L'objectif est de capturer le drapeau de l'ennemi, mais il est également possible de remporter la victoire aux points. Le contrôle de l'armée se fait au clavier - les unités peuvent se déplacer dans huit directions. L'artillerie peut tirer à distance, les autres types d'unités peuvent attaquer directement en se déplaçant simplement sur une case adjacente.
