Allemand Der Anfang allen Übels war ein Unfall im Versuchslabor eines Herrenhauses. Dieser Unfall hatte zur Folge, daß der T-Virus, ein bilogischer Kampfstoff der Umbrella Corporation, freigesetzt wurde. Alles Leben in seiner ursprünglichen Form wurde vernichtet und in schleckliche Mutationen verwandelt. Dies liegt etwa zwei Monate zurück und der Fall schien abgeschlossen, doch die schrecklichen Experimente der Umbrella Corporation waren alles andere als vorbei. Der T-Virus war nur ein Vorbote. Ganz Raccoon City wurde durch den noch todbringenderen G-Virus infiziert. Die Stadt wird von Zombies und anderen höllischen Kreaturen bevölkert. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt treffen Leon. S. Kennedy und Claire Redfield nichts ahnend in der Stadt ein und stürtzen Hals über Kopf in das Abenteuer Ihres Lebens.
Anglais Resident Evil 2 takes place two months after the events of the first game and is set in Raccoon City, a Midwestern mountain community whose residents have been turned into zombies by the T-virus, a biological weapon developed by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella. In their escape from the city, the two protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield encounter other survivors and are confronted by William Birkin, the mutated creator of the even more powerful G-virus.
Previously confined to an old mansion, the Umbrella corporation's legacy of fatal mutations has spilled over into nearby Raccoon City. The once peaceful town is now overrun with zombies and all manner of genetic mutations. New police recruit Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield; the sister of STARS agent Chris Redfield, find themselves in the middle of an experiment gone horribly wrong.

Le virus s'était propagé, transformant hommes et animaux en de monstrueuses créatures. Grâce à l'intervention radicale de l'équipe BRAVO l'affaire fut classée mais les expériences étaient loin d'être terminées...
Il vous faut maintenant faire face à la pire des situations possibles: un nouveau virus se propage. Raccoon City est infestée. Zombies assoiffés de sang et créatures mutantes hideuses envahissent la ville. Quand Claire et Léon arrivent en ville leur cauchemar ne fait que commencer...
Italien Resident Evil 2 è ambientato due mesi dopo gli eventi del primo gioco ed è ambientato a Raccoon City, una comunità montana del Midwest i cui residenti sono stati trasformati in zombi dal T-virus, un'arma biologica sviluppata dalla società farmaceutica Umbrella. Nella loro fuga dalla città, i due protagonisti Leon S. Kennedy e Claire Redfield incontrano altri sopravvissuti e si confrontano con William Birkin, il creatore mutato dell'ancor più potente G-virus.
In precedenza confinato in una vecchia villa, l'eredità di mutazioni fatali della società Umbrella si è riversata nella vicina Raccoon City. La città un tempo pacifica è ora invasa da zombi e da ogni sorta di mutazioni genetiche. La nuova recluta della polizia Leon Kennedy e Claire Redfield; la sorella dell'agente STARS Chris Redfield, si trova nel mezzo di un esperimento andato orribilmente storto.

Portugais O jogo se passa dois meses após os acontecimentos de Resident Evil, na cidade de Raccon City, localizada na região centro-oeste dos Estados Unidos. Quase todos os seus cidadãos foram transformados em zumbis por um surto do T-virus, um novo tipo de arma biológica secreta desenvolvida pela empresa farmacêutica Umbrella Corporation. Os protagonistas são Leon S. Kennedy, um policial novato em seu primeiro dia na força local, e Claire Redfield, uma estudante universitária à procura de seu irmão Chris. Tendo acabado de chegar na cidade, os dois partem para o Departamento de Polícia de Raccoon buscando proteção contra a população mutante. No entanto, após um caminhão desgovernado atingir o carro onde estavam, eles são forçados a dividirem-se (é possível escolher jogar como Leon ou Claire).
