Anglais Konami's whip-wielding, vampire-killing series makes its PlayStation 2 debut with Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. Set in the 11th century, the game traces the origins of the Belmont family through the story of original vampire hunter Leon Belmont.
You play Leon Belmont, who was once a Baron for the King. After his betrothed, Sara, was kidnapped and taken to a large castle, Leon asked the Church for permission to command his underlings to attack the castle. Because of the Crusades going on in the East, he is denied such. But because of his love for Sara, he denounces his title and leaves, going with no weapon or clue to the castle. He is stopped by an alchemist named Rinaldo, who was once a vampire-hunter himself. He gives Leon the Whip of Alchemy, offers to help him further in his quest, and sends him on his way.

Espagnol La base de la historia gira en torno a un bosque en el que nunca amanece, es el Bosque de la Noche Eterna. Es dicho que el vampiro que en él habita, nunca ha sido derrotado. Su nombre es Walter Bernhard, y su pasatiempo... es secuestrar a los seres queridos de los guerreros más habilidosos para obligarles a asistir para rescatarlos, y de esa manera, divertirse en su usual y macabra forma.
El personaje principal del juego es León Belmont, que usa el látigo de la alquimia de Rinaldo para derrotar a los demás enemigos mientras intenta rescatar a su amada Sara; también está Joachim Armster, un vampiro que es enemigo del amo del castillo, Walter Bernhard ya que éste último lo encerró, pero que es derrotado (mas no destruido) por León, sin embargo es el personaje jugable secreto del juego. Además se usan las armas de antaño(las armas secundarias), como el clásico cuchillo y la famosa hacha. Pero la sorpresa es que puede fusionar las armas con las esferas de poder, dando un ataque inesperado.

De nouvelles compétences de combat sont au programme, avec une grande variété d'armes et de combinaisons magiques.
Portugais Castlevania: Lament of Innocence é ambientado em 1094 e focando no eterno conflito entre os caçadores de vampiros do clã Belmont contra Drácula, o vampiro imortal. Você joga como Leon Belmont, que já foi Barão do Rei. Depois que sua noiva, Sara, foi sequestrada e levada para um grande castelo, Leon pediu permissão à Igreja para comandar seus subordinados para atacar o castelo. Por causa das Cruzadas acontecendo no Oriente, isso lhe é negado. Mas por causa de seu amor por Sara, ele renuncia seu título e vai embora, indo sem arma ou pista para o castelo. Ele é parado por um alquimista chamado Rinaldo, que já foi um caçador de vampiros. Ele dá a Leon o Chicote da Alquimia, se oferece para ajudá-lo em sua busca e o manda embora.
