Anglais Billed as a re-imagining of the original Silent Hill, Shattered Memories once again casts you as Harry Mason searching across the haunted town for his missing daughter Cheryl. New to the series are a depiction of Silent Hill's demonic alter-dimension as a world of ice, and the removal of weapons from the game - when the monsters come out, Harry must literally run for his life.

Between scenes, the game will cut to a psychiatrist's office, who asks you personal questions about yourself and your past experiences. The game will then alter itself based on your responses, changing characters and lines of dialog to something intended to be more personally uncomfortable.

As you search for Cheryl, you will come across objects and recordings that tell some of the history of Silent Hill.

Portugais Silent Hill: Shattered Memories é um jogo eletrônico da série Silent Hill. Apesar deste jogo ser conhecido como um mero "Remake" do jogo original Silent Hill de 1999. ele é uma sequência dos eventos visto em Silent Hill 3 de 2003 Quando Cheryl Mason perdeu seu pai e com o passar do tempo ela não soube lidar com isso.
Durante todo o jogo, o jogador será observado e avaliado, e suas ações terão um efeito sobre vários aspectos, incluindo os personagens, atitudes e roupas. Em um vídeo de demonstração mostra que o jogador preencherá um formulário de avaliação psicológica bem no começo do jogo.

Harry está equipado com um telefone celular, que pode verificar o mapa com uma interface GPS, receber mensagens de texto, áudio e fotos, podendo também tirar fotos e telefonar. Verificar páginas espalhadas de diários e documentos foram removidos do jogo: agora o jogador pode pesquisar o ambiente olhando em sua volta e usando o celular para aproximar de objetos e textos e tirar uma foto para revelar mensagens ocultas. O combate foi removido do jogo dando ênfase em fugir dos monstros evitando a luta.
