Allemand Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker präsentiert sich als eine direkte Fortsetzung zu Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Ihr übernehmt die Kontrolle über den berühmten Elite-Kämpfer Snake und findet euch im Jahr 1974 inmitten einer packenden Story wieder. Dieses Jahrzehnt ist geprägt vom Ost-West Konflikt - den lateinamerikanischen Staaten kommt hierbei eine wichtige strategische Bedeutung zu, denn die in Mittelamerika stationierten Mittelstreckenraketen könnten die USA erreichen. Klar, dass sich in den tropischen Dschungelstaaten Agenten aus Ost und West das Wasser abgraben, Intrigen spinnen und Geheimkommandos durchführen. In dieses Minenfeld verschlägt es Naked Snake aka Big Boss. Seine Mission: die Neutralität Costa Ricas zu schützen, damit das Gleichgewicht der Kräfte gewahrt bleibt.

Anglais Peace Walker is set in Costa Rica in November 1974, four years after the events of Portable Ops and ten years after Snake Eater. Snake (Big Boss) returns as the main character and is running his own mercenary unit after he decided to break away from The Patriots group founded by Major Zero. A mysterious group equipped with the latest weapons, called the Peace Sentinels (PS), has been deployed in-country. Despite the PS being equipped with the firepower equivalent to that of a land army, the Costa Rica government cannot do anything about them because the country's constitution does not allow the creation of an armed forces. The PS presence threatens to endanger the balance of power between the East and West.

Espagnol Se han contado historias de un legendario soldado que alguna vez inicio una guerra contra el mundo. Su nombre era Naked Snake, alias Big Boss, y la verdad detrás de esta leyenda por fin se contará. Corría el año 1970 cuando Big Boss se decidió por apostar a sus “Soldados Sin Fronteras” en Colombia. Estando ahí recibió visitas de ciertas personas provenientes de Costa Rica, “una nación sin milicia”.

En el despertar de la crisis de misiles de Cuba, Latinoamérica se convirtió en la llave para mantener el balance de poder entre Este y Oeste; y Costa Rica se gobernaba de manera milagrosa para mantenerse neutral y en paz. Pero en varias regiones del país, una misteriosa fuerza armada parecía estar involucrada en actividades sospechosas. Es ahora entonces que para preservar la paz en esta nación sin milicia, los “Soldados sin Fronteras”, se preparan para la acción. En su momento, serán conocidos como los fundadores del “Cielo Exterior” (Outer Haven).

Vous incarnez Naked Snake alias Big Boss dans une aventure qui se déroule 10 ans après l'histoire de Metal Gear Solid 3. L'accent est mis sur la coopération dans ce titre puisque vos compagnons joueront de véritables clones de Snake à vos côtés dans un scénario basé sur la crise des missiles de Cuba.
Portugais O Peace Walker se passa na Costa Rica em novembro de 1974, quatro anos após os eventos do Portable Ops e dez anos após o Snake Eater. Snake (Big Boss) retorna como personagem principal e está dirigindo sua própria unidade mercenária depois que ele decidiu se separar do grupo The Patriots, fundado pelo Major Zero. Um misterioso grupo equipado com as mais recentes armas, chamado Sentinelas da Paz (PS), foi enviado para o país. Apesar de o PS estar equipado com o poder de fogo equivalente ao de um exército terrestre, o governo da Costa Rica não pode fazer nada a respeito, porque a constituição do país não permite a criação de forças armadas. A presença do PS ameaça pôr em risco o equilíbrio de poder entre o Oriente e o Ocidente.
