Allemand Die Mortal Kombat-Kämpfer und mehrere neue Kämpfer kehren zu einem Turnier zurück, das vom bösen Shang Tsung aus der Außenwelt veranstaltet wird. Die Action ist wie zuvor eine Eins-gegen-Eins-Action und bekannt für ihr hohes Maß an Gewalt und Blut (im Gegensatz zur bereinigten Nintendo-Version). Es gibt 5 Schwierigkeitsstufen und optionale Credits sowie den üblichen Zwei-Spieler-Modus einschließlich Duellen mit denselben Charakteren.

Um das Hauptturnier zu gewinnen, muss der Spieler alle anderen menschlichen Spieler besiegen, bevor er gegen Shang Tsung, Kintaro und schließlich Shao Kahn antritt. Den Spielern steht eine Reihe von Schlägen und Tritten sowie fliegende Tritte, Aufwärtshaken, Roundhouses und Spezialbewegungen zur Verfügung, die für jeden Spieler unterschiedlich sind. Anglais The Mortal Kombat fighters, plus several new ones, return for a tournament held by the evil Shang Tsung of the Outworld. The action is one-on-one as before, and famed for its high level of violence and blood (other than the sanitised Nintendo version). There are 5 difficulty levels and optional credits, as well as the usual two player mode including same character duels.

To win the main tournament, the player must beat each of the other human players, before taking on Shang Tsung, Kintaro and finally Shao Kahn. Players have a range of punches and kicks available, as well as flying kicks, uppercuts, roundhouses, and the special moves, which vary for each player. These include throws, uppercuts, long-distance bullets, bicycle kicks and a teleport feature.

Le joueur incarne l'un des 12 personnages et doit vaincre un par un l'ensemble de ses concurrents directs pour gagner le tournoi et mettre un terme au règne du maléfique Shao Kahn.
Italien I combattenti di Mortal Kombat, più molti nuovi, tornano per un torneo organizzato dal malvagio Shang Tsung dell'Outworld. L'azione è uno contro uno come prima ed è famosa per il suo alto livello di violenza e sangue (a parte la versione sterilizzata di Nintendo). Ci sono 5 livelli di difficoltà e crediti opzionali, oltre alla solita modalità a due giocatori che include duelli con gli stessi personaggi.
Per vincere il torneo principale, il giocatore deve battere ciascuno degli altri giocatori umani, prima di affrontare Shang Tsung, Kintaro e infine Shao Kahn. I giocatori hanno a disposizione una vasta gamma di pugni e calci, così come calci volanti, montanti, roundhouse e mosse speciali, che variano per ogni giocatore. Questi includono lanci, montanti, proiettili a lunga distanza, calci in bicicletta e una funzione di teletrasporto.
