Anglais Waterloo, arguably the most famous battle in history, took place on June 18, 1815, between the French forces of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and the combined British and allied forces of the Duke of Wellington and the Prussian forces of Field Marshal Blücher.

The game Waterloo was a revolutionary concept in wargaming when it was released in 1989. Waterloo broke free from the usual overview of wargame commanders and offered the player the same perspective as real commanders on the battlefield.

Your orders must pass through an elaborate chain of command with varying degrees of success in execution. Your orders may even be ignored if local intelligence is better or if your officers lack the skill or courage to carry them out. As a commander (Napoleon or Wellington), you must even manage the time lags between events, their transmission to headquarters and their execution.
