Allemand "The Last Ninja" beginnt mit der Ausbildung eines neuen Ninja-Ordens. Während einer Trainingseinheit wird er auf mysteriöse Weise in das New York des 20. Jahrhunderts versetzt. Der böse Shogun ist wieder da! Aus seiner Zeit gerissen, muss sich der Letzte Ninja erneut verteidigen, indem er nur an seine eigenen Fähigkeiten glaubt.
Der Spieler steuert einen mächtigen Ninja und muss sich durch seine Gegner kämpfen und dabei Gegenstände sammeln. Das Spiel ist in mehrere Ebenen unterteilt, die jeweils einen anderen Ort darstellen und in mehrere Bildschirme unterteilt sind. Die Ansicht ist isometrisch, der Ninja kann sich in vier verschiedenen Dimensionen bewegen und springen.
Der Ninja muss seine Feinde mit bloßen Händen oder mit den Waffen, die er auf seinem Weg findet, bekämpfen. Es gibt eine spezielle Fernkampfwaffe: das Shuriken, das schweren Schaden verursacht.
