Allemand Die Menschen auf der Erde haben ihr rechtschaffenes Verhalten verloren. Nachdem die Götter dies erkannt haben, haben sie beschlossen, die Erdbewohner im Stich zu lassen und sie nicht mehr zu schützen. Ashura, der König einer außerirdischen Rasse, die aus der Welt des Bösen stammt, beschließt, dass dies der perfekte Zeitpunkt ist, um die verletzliche, ungeschützte Erde anzugreifen. Zufällig hat einer der guten Götter, Hyperion, Mitleid mit den Menschen und beschließt, vier der stärksten Erdenkrieger mit seiner Macht auszustatten, damit sie Ashura und seine Schergen besiegen können.

Anglais Humans on Earth have lost their righteous ways. After seeing that this has happened, the Gods have decided to abandon the Earthlings and no longer protect them. Ashura, the King of an alien race hailing from the Evil World, decides that this is the perfect time to strike the vulnerable unprotected Earth. It just so happens that one of the good gods, Hyperion, takes pity on the humans and decides to bestow his power to four of the strongest Earth warriors so they can go and defeat Ashura and his minions.

The player takes control of these four warriors who are Leo, a fencer, Marco, a monk, and Horatio and Tiffany, whom are both ninjas (one male, one female). Each character fires their own type of weapon and each character can charge up their weapon to make it a more powerful shot. All the characters also have a special weapon that can clear all the enemies on the screen but with the caveat that it can only be used once per stage. Each character also has a jump and speed attribute which when powered up allows them to jump higher and walk faster. Players can switch between all of the characters during a stage.

The game has 9 different stages. The player can play the first six (mountain,harbor,street,future,glen, and forest) in any order. Each round ends with a boss which must be defeated to clear that round.
Espagnol Los humanos en la Tierra han perdido sus caminos justos. Después de ver que esto sucedió, los dioses decidieron abandonar a los terrícolas y ya no los protegen. Ashura, el rey de una raza alienígena proveniente del Mundo del Mal, decide que este es el momento perfecto para atacar a la vulnerable Tierra desprotegida. Da la casualidad de que uno de los dioses buenos, Hyperion, se apiada de los humanos y decide otorgar su poder a cuatro de los guerreros más fuertes de la Tierra para que puedan derrotar a Ashura y sus secuaces. El jugador toma el control de estos cuatro guerreros que son Leo, un tirador, Marco, un monje, y Horatio y Tiffany, que son ambos ninjas (un hombre, una mujer). Cada personaje dispara su propio tipo de arma y cada personaje puede cargar su arma para que sea más poderosa. Todos los personajes también tienen un arma especial que puede limpiar a todos los enemigos en la pantalla pero con la advertencia de que solo se puede usar una vez por etapa. Cada personaje también tiene un atributo de salto y velocidad que cuando se enciende le permite saltar más alto y caminar más rápido. Los jugadores pueden cambiar entre todos los personajes durante una etapa. El juego tiene 9 etapas diferentes. El jugador puede jugar los primeros seis (montaña, puerto, calle, futuro, cañada y bosque) en cualquier orden. Cada ronda termina con un jefe que debe ser derrotado para despejar esa ronda.

Français Shadow Blasters est un jeu d'action/plates-formes sur Megadrive. Sauvez la Terre des forces maléfiques d'Ashura grâce à une équipe de quatre guerriers aux pouvoirs magiques. Le joueur dirige alternativement ces personnages (Leo, Marco, Horatio et Tiffany) à travers plus de huit niveaux différents. Les ennemis vaincus laissent derrière eux des bonus qui seront fort utiles face au boss de fin de niveau.
Italien Gli umani sulla Terra hanno perso le loro vie rette. Dopo aver visto che ciò è accaduto, gli Dei hanno deciso di abbandonare i Terrestri e di non proteggerli più. Ashura, il re di una razza aliena proveniente dal mondo del male, decide che questo è il momento perfetto per colpire la vulnerabile Terra non protetta. Si dà il caso che uno dei buoni dei, Hyperion, abbia pietà degli umani e decida di conferire il suo potere a quattro dei più forti guerrieri della Terra in modo che possano andare a sconfiggere Ashura e i suoi scagnozzi.

Portugais O deus Ashura decidiu colocar a Terra sob ataque de seus demônios, com a intenção de tomar o planeta para si. Em contrapartida, o deus Hyperion decidiu confrontar esse ataque recrutando quatro poderosos guerreiros que irão proteger o nosso planeta, são eles: Horatio, Tiffany, Marco e Leo. A ação do jogo acontece em progressão lateral em seis fases e o jogador terá como escolher um dos heróis que possuem habilidades exclusivas na batalha contra o mal. É possível a obtenção de power-ups que irão melhorar atributos de combate.
