Allemand Die Ereignisse in Wizards & Warriors X: The Fortress of Fear finden nach den Ereignissen in Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors II statt. Im Spiel ist der Ritterkrieger Kuros zu sehen, „einer der tapfersten Krieger, die jemals das Eisenschwert geführt haben“ und der einzige Mensch, der den bösen Zauberer Malkil besiegt hat. Nach Malkils Niederlage in Ironsword zog er sich für mehr als 17 Jahre zurück, in denen in dieser Zeit niemand etwas von ihm hörte. Dann verschwindet Prinzessin Elaine spurlos, und Kuros glaubt, dass Malkil sie gefangen genommen und in der gefürchteten Festung der Angst in den Wäldern von Zanifer eingesperrt hat. Dann wagt sich Kuros in die Festung der Angst, um Malkil davon abzuhalten, seine bösen Pläne voranzutreiben. Anglais The events in Wizards & Warriors X: The Fortress of Fear take place after the events in Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors II. The game features the knight warrior Kuros, "one of the bravest warriors ever to wield the IronSword" as well as the only person to defeat the evil wizard Malkil. After Malkil's defeat in Ironsword, he went into seclusion for more than 17 years, in which nobody was heard from him during that time. Then, Princess Elaine disappears without a trace, in which Kuros believes that Malkil has captured her and imprisoned her in the dreaded Fortress of Fear, located in the woods of Zanifer. Kuros then ventures into the Fortress of Fear to stop Malkil from furthering his evil plans. However, many people have gone inside the Fortress of Fear, but none of them survived.

Français Ce jeu est la suite de Ironsword : Wizards & Warriors II sorti sur NES. Le jeu met en scène le chevalier Kuros, "l'un des guerriers les plus courageux à avoir jamais manié l'IronSword" ainsi que la seule personne à avoir vaincu le méchant sorcier Malkil. Après la défaite de Malkil dans Ironsword, il s'est retiré pendant plus de 17 ans, sans que personne n'ait eu de nouvelles de lui pendant cette période. Puis, la princesse Elaine disparaît sans laisser de trace, ce qui laisse croire à Kuros que Malkil l'a capturée et emprisonnée dans la redoutable forteresse de la peur, située dans les bois du Zanifer. Kuros s'aventure alors dans la forteresse de la peur pour empêcher Malkil de poursuivre ses plans diaboliques. Cependant, beaucoup de gens sont allés à l'intérieur de la Forteresse de la Peur, mais aucun d'entre eux n'a survécu.
