How you acquire stature is up to you; you can make your living through honest trade and the search for hidden treasure, or you can be a little more daring and attack and plunder ships. As you can choose a specific skill to stand out in, the game can vary each time. Sword fighting is played out in side-view action sequences.

Gold te permite interpretar el papel de un bucanero principiante en Spanish Main, en el siglo XVII, en busca de fama y fortuna. Cada pueblo en esta región indómita en bruto tiene diferentes sorpresas y peligros. Cómo adquieres el estatuto depende de ti; puede ganarse la vida mediante el comercio honesto y la búsqueda de tesoros escondidos, o puede ser un poco más atrevido y atacar y saquear barcos. Como puedes elegir una habilidad específica para destacar, el juego puede variar cada vez. La lucha de espada se juega en las secuencias de acción de vista lateral.

O estilo de jogo é o mesmo: o jogador deverá escolher as ações dos piratas em meio a batalhas, conquistas e também procurar por novos tesouros para serem enterrados.
