Allemand The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest ist eine spezielle Version des Spieles, die nicht für das N64 veröffentlicht wurde. Sie war als kostenlose Beilage zur limitierten Auflage des Zelda-Teils The Wind Waker auf dem Nintendo GameCube erhältlich. Zu den Unterschieden zählen die schwierigere Gestaltung der Labyrinthe, veränderte Rätsel, neue Anordnung der goldene Skulltulas und es werden früher im Spiel stärkere Gegner verwendet.

Anglais The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest is a special version of Ocarina of Time that wasn't released for the N64 in North America. Both games were exclusively available for the Nintendo GameCube to those who preordered The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker at a participating retailer. The Master Quest version of Ocarina of Time contains the same overall storyline as the original Ocarina of Time adventure. However, the dungeons have been upgraded to be truly challenging, even to a Zelda master.

Portugais O jogo consiste em uma versão modificada e mais difícil de Ocarina of Time. Os dungeons apresentam-se um pouco alterados, com itens e inimigos em locais diferentes, embora os chefes tenham sido mantidos como no original. O enredo do jogo também permaneceu o mesmo, apresentando apenas algumas mudanças textuais (correções e/ou melhorias) pouco significativas nos diálogos.

Durante o jogo, Link coleta itens e armas, cujas habilidades permitem-no acessar, percorrer e completar calabouços para avançar a história. Cada calabouço é uma área densa e independente na qual Link resolve quebra-cabeças e derrota inimigos, terminando na batalha com o chefe do calabouço, um inimigo poderoso e único. Cada calabouço e seu respectivo chefe partilham de um item principal e um tema em comum; por exemplo, Link deve usar o Arco da Fada para completar o Templo da Floresta e derrotar seu chefe, o Ganon Fantasma, ambos os quais envolvem artimanhas e descaminhos. Derrotar um chefe do calabouço concede a Link um item especial e avança a demanda principal.
