Allemand Fate of Atlantis ist das zweite Spiel seiner Gattung mit der Filmfigur des Archäologen Indiana Jones in der Hauptrolle. Die Handlung ist im Jahr 1939 angesiedelt und dreht sich um die Suche nach der legendären, versunkenen Stadt Atlantis.

Dabei erkundet man die Spielwelt und interagiert mit Gegenständen und Figuren, indem man mittels vorgegebener Verben Befehle erzeugt und Rätsel löst. Es stehen drei unterschiedliche Kampagnen zur Verfügung: je nachdem, ob Spieler sich für den Team-Weg, Puzzle-Weg oder Action-Weg entscheiden, ändert sich der weitere Spielverlauf und entwickelt sich die Handlung anders. Gelegentliche Action- und Kampfsequenzen bieten eine Abwechslung zum normalen Spielgeschehen, während ein Punktesystem die bewältigten Herausforderungen aufzeichnet und zu einem erneuten Durchlauf animieren soll.

Anglais Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is a point-and-click adventure game by LucasArts originally released in 1992. Almost a year later, it was reissued on CD-ROM as an enhanced talkie edition with full voice acting and digitized sound effects. In 2009, this version was also released as an unlockable extra of the Wii action game Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, and as a digitally distributed Steam title. The seventh game to use the script language SCUMM, Fate of Atlantis has the player explore environments and interact with objects and characters by using commands constructed with predetermined verbs. It features three unique paths to select, influencing story development, gameplay and puzzles. The game used an updated SCUMM engine and required a 286-based PC, although it still runs as a real-mode DOS application. The CD talkie version required EMS memory enabled to load the voice data.

Espagnol La historia de The Fate of Atlantis nos sitúa en el año 1939, en los albores de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. El doctor Henry Jones recibe un encargo de un tal señor Smith: conseguir una estatuilla perteneciente a la colección privada del Barnett College. Cuando ambos se reúnen junto con Marcus Brody, Smith se hace con el ídolo a punta de pistola y escapa dejando tras de sí una pista que revela su identidad. En realidad es Klaus Kerner, un agente del Tercer Reich.
Indy comienza a seguirle la pista y descubre que su próximo objetivo es Sofía Hapgood, una antigua compañera de excavaciones que ahora se dedica a dar conferencias sobre la Atlántida en calidad de médium. Tras asistir a una conferencia en la que supuestamente Sofía se comunica con el dios Nur-Ab-Sal, Indy se reúne con ella para preguntarle acerca de lo que busca Kerner. Se trata de un metal precioso llamado orichalcum que tiene el poder de activar maquinaria y otros objetos de origen atlante, entre ellos el collar de Sofía. Kerner pretende utilizarlo para conseguir el arma definitiva.

Pour cela, il est assisté par Sophia Hapgood, une ancienne collègue archéologue dotée de capacités psi.
