Allemand AX-101 auf Mega CD ist ein futuristisches Ego-Shooter-Spiel, dessen Ziel es ist, die Menschheit vor außerirdischen Angriffen zu schützen. Der Spieler spielt einen Raumschiffpiloten und muss die Kanone bei Weltraumkämpfen, Luftschlachten und manchmal auch in unterirdischen Umgebungen bedienen. Es stehen 3 Waffentypen zur Verfügung: die einfache Kanone, die viel stärkere Nachladekanone sowie Bomben, die vorsichtig gehandhabt werden müssen, da ihre Anzahl begrenzt ist.

Anglais The game is an on-rails shooter, with gameplay seen from a first-person cockpit perspective. The player's ship moves automatically through pre-rendered space and planetary environments and only the targeting crosshair can be moved freely. Laser Cannons and Fusion Warheads are available to hit the numerous enemies. Lasers have unlimited ammunition but need a few moments time to recharge. The warheads function as smart bombs and clear the screen of enemies, but are available only in limited supply. They are restocked when reaching a certain score. The ship's energy shield functions as a life bar.

Between the shooting levels, there are transitional cutscenes, pre-rendered in the same way as the actual gameplay.

Espagnol El juego es un juego de disparos sobre railes, con un juego visto desde la perspectiva de una cabina en primera persona. La nave del jugador se mueve automáticamente a través de entornos planetarios previamente renderizados, y solo el objetivo puede moverse libremente. Los cañones láser y las ojivas de fusión están disponibles para golpear a innumerables enemigos. Los láseres tienen munición ilimitada, pero necesitan unos momentos para recargarse. Las ojivas actúan como bombas inteligentes y despejan la pantalla de los enemigos, pero solo están disponibles en cantidades limitadas. Se reponen al alcanzar un cierto puntaje. El escudo de energía de la nave actúa como una barra de salud.

Français AX-101 sur Mega CD est un shoot'em up futuriste en vue à la première personne dont l'objectif est de protéger l'humanité d'attaques extraterrestres. Le joueur incarne un pilote de vaisseau spatial et doit manier le canon lors de joutes spatiales, aériennes et parfois dans des environnements souterrains. 3 types d'armes sont disponibles : le canon simple, le canon rechargé beaucoup plus puissant ainsi que des bombes à manier avec précaution car limitées en nombre.
Italien Il gioco è uno sparatutto su rotaie, con il gameplay visto dalla prospettiva della cabina di pilotaggio in prima persona. La nave del giocatore si muove automaticamente attraverso lo spazio pre-renderizzato e gli ambienti planetari e solo il mirino di mira può essere spostato liberamente. Cannoni laser e testate a fusione sono disponibili per colpire i numerosi nemici. I laser hanno munizioni illimitate ma hanno bisogno di qualche istante per ricaricarsi. Le testate funzionano come bombe intelligenti e liberano lo schermo dai nemici, ma sono disponibili solo in quantità limitata. Vengono riforniti al raggiungimento di un determinato punteggio. Lo scudo energetico della nave funziona come una barra della vita.

Portugais O jogo é um shooter on-rails, com uma jogabilidade vista a partir de uma perspectiva de cabine de primeira pessoa. A nave do jogador se move automaticamente através de ambientes planetários e pré-renderizados, e apenas o alvo pode ser movido livremente. Canhões de laser e ogivas de fusão estão disponíveis para acertar os inúmeros inimigos. Os lasers têm munição ilimitada, mas precisam de alguns momentos para recarregar. As ogivas funcionam como bombas inteligentes e limpam a tela dos inimigos, mas estão disponíveis apenas em quantidade limitada. Eles são reabastecidos ao atingir uma determinada pontuação. O escudo de energia do navio funciona como uma barra de vida.

Entre os níveis de disparo, há cenas de transição, pré-renderizadas da mesma maneira que a jogabilidade real.
