Wenn das ein Beat 'em up der Spitzenklasse sein soll, dann bin ich ein einäugiger rumänischer Gemüsehändler. Du musst nicht einmal die Bewegungen lernen, um fast jeden Gegner in weniger als einer Minute zu besiegen. Ich habe gleich beim ersten Versuch den letzten Gegner erreicht – was nicht gerade viel über die Haltbarkeit des Spiels aussagt. Weder die Grafik, noch der Sound oder das Zeitlupen-Gameplay haben mich beeindruckt. Selbst der Bonusabschnitt reagiert langsam auf das Drücken des Joysticks und bis dahin ist deine Energie wieder auf Null. Wenn du ein gutes Beat 'em up suchst, lass dieses Spiel lieber im Regal liegen.

You're so hard, in fact, that you've decided to prove it to the rest of the world. The meanest, nastiest, vilest street fighters of five different nations have agreed to take you on in one of the dirtiest, most underhand, no-holds-barred street fighting contests in the universe ever.

If this is a top-quality beat 'em up then I'm a one-eyed Romanian greengrocer. Talk about easy - you don't even need to study the moves to be able to knock practically everyone out in under an minute. I got right through to the last toughie on my first go – which doesn't exactly say much for the product's lastability. I can't say I was overly impressed by the graphics, the sound or the slow-motion gameplay – in fact I can't say I was overly impressed by anything at all. Even the bonus section takes ages to react to your frantic pushing of the joystick – by which time your energy bar has gone back down to minimum. If you're after a beat 'em up leave this one lying on the shelf.

Al igual que en Street Fighter II, en esta entrega, debíamos vencer a diez peleadores de cinco países (Japón, China, Estados Unidos, Reino Unido y Tailandia). El villano final era Sagat, quien aparece como sub-jefe en la secuela.
Una curiosidad del primer título de la franquicia que pocos fanáticos conocen es que Sagat aparece sin la enorme cicatriz en el pecho. Esto debido a que dicha herida es provocada por Ryu en el combate final.
